What is the Menopause Doula Training Course?

June 18, 20244 min read

A transformational framework that creates clarity and calm, allowing coaches and therapists to quickly and confidently support menstruators, from periods, to perimenopause and beyond.

Introduction:

This course will take your knowledge and understanding of menopause health to a place that is very different from other courses.

If you feel that other courses are missing something but you can’t put your finger on what that is, or you haven’t found what you are looking for to upskill in a way that will make a lasting change, then we are most likely the best fit for you.

Guide, nurture and support

We believe in a menopause-friendly future

We teach things differently

We draw attention to the fact that menstruation stops because ovarian activity has changed. Menopause doesn’t just happen. It is part of a physiological process driven by the ovaries and the brain.

Our teaching is based on the Biology of female anatomy and physiology. We deliver it in a way that is practical and useful.

Menopause (noun) is typically when a menstruator has not had a menstrual cycle for 12 consecutive months, combined with signs that suggest the ovarian activity that drives menstruation has changed, and consequently, the menstrual cycle has stopped, permanently.

Here's an insight to some of the content

Level 1 Lesson 1:

Introducing the Menstrual Health Timeline.

‘A biological framework that is pre-programmed into every human born with ovaries and a uterus’.

Level 1 Lesson 2:

Ovarian activity leads to changes in sex hormone levels, but the hormone collective jointly contributes to whole-body change that may lead to signs & symptoms, and risks & consequences. As such a whole-person approach is needed when supporting hormone health.’

Level 2 Lesson 5:

At no point in time can the ovaries be strictly controlled by any action, neither general function nor the level of hormone output. They can be influenced via the controllable co-factors, but not controlled. Ovulation is the ‘main event’ of the menstrual cycle and when that does not happen it creates a completely different hormone cascade.

Our Method

  • Before we can support people we need to educate them. You can’t manage what you don’t understand. We give you tools to teach others about menstrual and menopause health.

  • Once they have the information they need guidance. People who menstruate have never had a lesson on what it means to their health and well-being to have a physiology that works in a special kind of way. We give you a method to follow and resources to make that possible.

  • Ongoing support may be short bursts of time and information or something quite different. As each person's experience on the menstrual health timeline is different, so is the support they need. We give you a framework to continue inspiring them to take their next best step.

What will you learn with us?

1. A fast and effective way for holistic practitioners to transform the menstrual health experience for those they serve.

Learn about menstrual & menopause health in a professional-only space, so you can make a difference in the lives of people who menstruate. Thanks to our ‘structure related to function’ approach you can easily study the Menstrual Health Timeline framework in a few hours, and be creating confident conversations within days.

2. We place menstrual health at the core of female health

We have a unique approach that talks about menstruation before menopause, using The Story of Menopause. Ours is the only training of its kind that maps out the menopause journey from puberty. Learning the right kind of questions to ask (and what the answers mean) will then allow you as a wellness professional to support you clients directly or signpost them to best resources for them. In addition you can then adapt your treatments accordingly and get even better results for your clients.

3. We are building a dynamic community of holistic health professionals

We enable you to share menopause experiences and grow your knowledge with our continued professional development community. Our content places science at the centre of the curriculum. We then show you how the science can be integrated across all kinds of treatments with a whole-person approach, and allow you the space to grow in that understanding by remaining connected to us via our online community for as long as you wish.

Conclusion

  • We put an end to the myths in straightforward terms

  • We deliver a time efficient, mind-blowing learning experience

  • We empower you to step into the arena and help others
